Friends of Christopher Guild
The Friends of Christopher Guild is a women's volunteer organization dedicated to sustaining and expanding the safety net for abused children in Travis County through support of the Center for Child Protection.
History
Founded in 1998, the Friends of Christopher Guild was born out of our community's despair, frustration, and outrage over the death of two-year-old Christopher Wohlers in 1990. This small child's death came to symbolize the plight of an imperfect and complex system designed to protect children from abuse. As a result, a group of committed community volunteers mobilized to help seek care and justice for these small victims.
