Guardian Angel Reception Benefitting the Center for Child Protection

Guardian Angel Society Reception

Children are innocent. Just as the arms of good parents offer protection from harm, partnership in the Guardian Angel Society will provide the opportunity for protection to young victims of sexual and physical abuse so that they may find the help, hope and healing they deserve. The Fifth Annual Guardian Angel Society Event was held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the home of Mary and Bob Wilbur. This invitation-only event gave Center supporters the opportunity to introduce their friends and neighbors to the important work that the Center for Child Protection does on behalf of children. Attendees learned how to get involved to assist abused and neglected children and how they can help stop the destructive cycle of abuse in our community. As of April 28, 2008, Guardian Angel Society members have pledged $150,000 to help Travis County's abused children.

The Guardian Angel Society was established to meet the needs of children today as well as the needs of the children of tomorrow. A Guardian Angel's pledge of $1,000 or more annually for a period of three years sustains the Center through long-term support, ensuring that its doors remain open at any hour for children in need. To request an invitation to attend in 2009, contact Emily Jansen at 512/472-1164 x240 or ejansen@centerforchildprotection.org.
